inCompass® URL Web Filter by NetSTAR to be Embedded in Cavium OCTEON® II Processors Running TurboDPI®

San Mateo, CA – July 25, 2012 – NetSTAR, the market leader in Web Filtering and Web Security technologies and services for the OEM market, has announced that it has entered into a strategic partnership with Cavium, Inc. a leading provider of semiconductor products that enable intelligent processing for networking, communications and the digital home. As part of the strategic partnership, NetSTAR’s inCompass 4th Generation Web Filtering and Security technology has been highly optimized and integrated into Cavium’s TurboDPI solution, the industry’s first off-the-shelf multi-function security software solution optimized for Cavium’s OCTEON II processors.

The resulting solution will allow hardware and solution vendors utilizing TurboDPI within their products to provide highly optimized web filtering and web security solutions, at unprecedented speeds and performance, within their products without the need for additional engineering or development work. Cavium’s TurboDPI solution consists of carrier-grade, multi-function deep packet inspection including Protocol Detection, URL Filtering, Application Performance Management, Anti-malware and Intrusion Prevention capabilities. The software that can be utilized inline or out of band to detect hundreds of protocols such as HTTP, FTP, IMAP, POP3, SMTP, Layer7, Web 2.0, P2P, VoIP, IM, Audio, Video, etc. at wire speed.
