TOKYO—June 29, 2011—NetSTAR, Inc., Japan’s premier developer of URL filtering product technologies and services, today announced that the NetSTAR Business Browser, a browser with access restriction features for corporate clients, is now compatible with three smartphone models sold by NTT DOCOMO, Inc., and one model sold by the KDDI Corporation.
The Business Browser is an enterprise-class filtering service that combines a browser app for smartphones and tablet computers with NetSTAR’s cloud service platform. With this service, system administrators can centrally manage the smartphones and tablet computers used by employees to prevent them from viewing non-work related sites or connecting to sites that may pose a security risk. The iPhone/iPad version of this service was released in December 2010, with the Android version released in May of this year.
The Android version of the browser was originally compatible with three Softbank models, but today’s release announced the addition of NTT DOCOMO’s MEDIAS N-04C, GALAXY Tab SC-01C, and GALAXY S SC-02B along with KDDI’s REGZA Phone IS04. With this release, the Business Browser can be used with each of the top-three mobile telephone carriers in Japan.
