San Mateo, CA. – NetSTAR, Inc., an ALPS System Integration Company (ALSI) group company and a global leader in secure web categorization and content filtering technology, has announced that the NetSTAR inCompass technology now enables NetSTAR’s OEM Partners to process and categorize over four (4) billion URL requests per day with a single instance of the inCompass engine running on commodity hardware.

These results include the ability to obtain URL category rating and reputation data. Additional capacity can easily be added as required. “This performance milestone represents the quality and confidence that our partners place in the inCompass technology”, stated Akira Nakayama, Vice President, NetSTAR Global Business Group.

This volume of URL lookups not only includes domain content written in over 200 languages, but also demonstrates a real-time ability of detection of questionable and compromised websites as well as the detection of risky user behaviors including detection of proxy use and http based proxy avoidance attempts by users or malicious applications.

NetSTAR’s inCompass technology is currently being used by service providers, mobile operators, Cloud solution vendors, anti-virus companies, and gateway vendors around the word where accuracy, quality, responsiveness, coverage, and fast URL query performance are required.
