In 2001, NetSTAR Inc. was originally established as a joint venture between Alps System Integration Co., Ltd. (ALSI) and Trend Micro Inc. (TM) to address significant weakness among existing OEM content filtering marketplace solutions.
NetSTAR Inc. recently publicly announced that Alps System Integration Co., Ltd. and Trend Micro Inc. had reached an agreement for ALSI to obtain full control of NetSTAR at the end of December 2012. Based on the agreement, Alps System Integration Co., Ltd. acquired Trend Micro Inc.’s share of NetSTAR, and consequently NetSTAR has become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Alps System Integration Co., Ltd. group as of April 1, 2013.
According to the organizational plans of Alps System Integration Co., Ltd., NetSTAR Inc. will operate as a business unit within Alps System Integration Co., Ltd. effective May 8th, 2013. In addition to NetSTAR’s previous endeavors in proving OEM web-filtering and security solutions, NetSTAR will now begin to also operate as the R&D entity of Alps System Integration Co., Ltd., which means additional resources and new technology will be made available for our OEM partners.
