The leader in web filtering for the mobile device market, NetSTAR, further enhances their inCompass SDK to provide unparalleled web filtering and security for Mobile Operators, Telcos, and their Subscribers

SAN MATEO, CA – April 26, 2012 – NetSTAR, Inc., a global leader in secure web-filtering, today announced that it has enhanced its inCompass® SDK 4th Generation Web-Filtering technology for use in the mobile security and mobile device web-filtering market. Already used by some of the world’s largest telcos and mobile operators, NetSTAR has enhanced the inCompass SDK by addressing the growing changes of the mobile computing environment, including smartphones, tablets, and mobile other mobile computing devices. These enhancements include additional categories unique to the mobile environment, enhanced awareness of threats unique to mobile platforms, and maximizing URL lookup performance speeds which is critical to mobile operators being able to deliver high-speed internet access their subscribers demand.

“As one of the predominate URL filtering and web security providers to the mobile market, we are excited to be able to further the distance between the inCompass technology and our competition,” said Akira Nakayama, Vice President for NetSTAR, Inc. “While competitive solutions are still looking at mobile web-filtering as being the same as desktop web-filtering, NetSTAR recognizes that mobile computing, including the use of smartphones, have their own unique web-filtering and security requirements that are only being addressed by NetSTAR through their inCompass technology.”

The inCompass SDK is capable of performing over 250,000 URL lookups, on commodity hardware, with a single incidence of the engine running. Over 90 categories are provided, with over a hundred additional sub-categories. In addition to supporting over 150 languages, the inCompass technology is the only solution available in the market to offer real-time dynamic filtering with the Instant Content Categorization Engine (iCCE) in over 50 categories. inCompass is also the only solution that includes a Back-End Categorization Engine (BaCCE) and CTRL (a combination of human reviewers and technology tools to aid and standardize their review). Combined all together, the enhanced inCompass SDK provides an unparalleled URL filtering and web security solution that addresses existing, dynamic and emerging content with enhanced awareness of risks in the mobile device (smartphone and tablet computing) markets.
